A Night of Modern Music at Berry

A trio of Berry College faculty will perform fresh compositions and an exciting program of modern music for trumpet, percussion, and piano on Oct. 25.
Associate Professor of Piano Kris Carlisle, Adjunct Instructor of Percussion and Jazz John David and Assistant Professor of Music and Trumpet Adam Hayes will perform at 7:30 p.m. (Thursday) Oct. 25 in the Ford Auditorium at Berry College. This event is free and open to the public.
Pieces performed will include music by Kelly Rossum, and Amy Dunker and will feature the world premieres of Jianjun He’s “Sonatina”, Laurence Kramer’s “Star and Shadow”, and a commissioned work by renowned composer Robert J. Bradshaw.
Carlisle has studied with such noted artists as Louanne Long, Mack McCray, Lita Guerra, and Susan Svrcek. He has been the winner of many competitions and the recipient of various awards including: the Martha Fischer-Tye Foundation Award; a Special Achievement in Musicology Award from the Kennedy Center, Washington D.C.; and a Georgia Music Teachers Steinway Piano Galleries Educator Grant. Carlisle will be performing piano with the trio.
David has performed throughout the United States and Europe in a variety of jazz and commercial settings. Currently residing in Atlanta, David is one of the most sought-after drummers in the nation. He has twice received international awards from Downbeat Magazine. He will perform percussion with the trio.
Hayes is an internationally recognized performer, educator, and clinician. A versatile musician, Hayes has performed throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, including performances with more than 40 professional orchestras throughout the world. Hayes will perform trumpet with the trio.
