Model High School earns the Spirit Banner this year at the Coosa Valley Fair Cheerleading Expo. The Fair opened at 6p.m. this past October 2nd, with the Cheerleading Expo marking its first day.
Hotshots Cheerleading hosted the event, along with MCs Robert Davis from the Coosa Valley Credit Association and Matt Davis from the Ridge. Shorter University Cheerleading also performed -many Shorter Hawk cheerleaders help out with Hotshots- rounding out this special event that features cheerleading teams from all ages.
With the smell of Roasted Corn permeating the air, large crowds attended the CVF because of venues like the Cheerleading Expo as well as rides, animals AND food; all despite misty conditions that came and went during the evening. Cathy Kerce, President of the Coosa Valley Fair Association, commented that armband pre-sales ($18 at the ticket booth) were double that of the year before. Fair Management concludes those pre-sale numbers, the large crowd that came undeterred in the rain and a week of special events makes them optimistic of this year’s Coosa Valley Fair.
