Mother and daughter to sign cookbook full of family recipes

Susan Childers and Amanda Childers Watson, local authors of new cookbook All in the Family, will host a public cookbook signing at the Last Stop Gift Shop on Saturday, August 4.

The book signing will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Last Stop Gift Shop. This event is free and sponsored by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB).

Attendees will be able to meet and greet the authors behind the All in the Family cookbook. Also, samples of the recipes, such as their famous chow-chow and hot pepper jellies, will be offered throughout the event. The foods sampled as well as the All in the Family cookbook will be available to purchase at the event.

All in the Family contains nearly 300 recipes from almost 50 contributors from different parts of the country.

The cookbook is full of recipes that are considered the family favorites. The Childers included as many family members as possible and recipes are written to share their secrets behind the incredible dishes.

The collection includes appetizers and beverages, soups and salads, vegetables and side dishes, main dishes, breads and rolls, desserts, cookies and candy, and more.

Success behind this family’s cooking has not been from reading recipes and trying them out. They say their best recipes have come from watching and studying the step by step process of true southern cooks, like their own “Nana” (Kathryn Hall) and “Granny” (Lucille Childers).

Both have truly inspired the Susan and Amanda and taught them to have a passion for cooking.

The Last Stop Gift Shop is located inside the Rome – Floyd Visitor Center at 402 Civic Center Drive.
