Restaurant Inspections for October 23 – October 29, 2011

During the last week Floyd County Health Inspectors visited several food serving locations. The following information lists code provisions found to be out of adherence during the inspections. These reports have now been added to our Archive Page which can be found on our Restaurant Scores Page.

ALTO PARK SCHOOL at 528 BURNETT FERRY RD ROME scored a 97-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed rodent activity as evidenced by rodent droppings found.  New Violation.

ARMUCHEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at 5075 MARTHA BERRY HWY ROME scored a 97-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed rodent activity as evidenced by rodent droppings found.  New Violation.

ARMUCHEE HIGH SCHOOL at 4203 MARTHA BERRY HWY ROME scored a 99-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed rust on floor in walkin  New Violation.

ARMUCHEE MIDDLE SCHOOL at 471 FLOYD SPRINGS RD ARMUCHEE scored a 96-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed black buildup on ice machine.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

ELM STREET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at 8 ELM ST ROME scored a 98-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed most recent inspection not posted.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Obeserved personal food item stored in warming unit.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

GLENWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at 75 GLENWOOD SCHOOL RD ROME scored a 100-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-No violations observed.

JOHNSON ELEMENTARY at 1910 MORRISON CAMPGROUND RD KINGSTON scored a 100-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-No violations observed.

LOU-CORAS HOMECOOKING at 2031 MAPLE RD ROME scored a 82-B, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed microwave with crust buildup inside  New Violation.
-Observed consumer advisory not present @ inspection.  New Violation.
-Observed bbq sauce 96 degrees.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Observed no dumpster present must install dumpster with concrete pad and drain must be installed by Dec 1.  New Violation.
-Observed floor with sealant missing, repair floor by Dec 1.  New Violation.

MODEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at 3200 CALHOUN HWY ROME scored a 97-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed the presence of insects, rodents, or other pests.  New Violation.

MODEL HIGH SCHOOL at 3252 CALHOUN HWY ROME scored a 100-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-No violations observed.

MODEL MIDDLE SCHOOL at 164 BARRON RD ROME scored a 100-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-No violations observed.

PANERA BREAD at 14 RIVERBEND DRIVE, SUITE 110 ROME scored a 98-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed boxes used on shelving for cover  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Observed dumpster lid broken.  New Violation.

ROME HIGH SCHOOL at 1000 VETERAN’S MEMORIAL HWY ROME scored a 100-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-No violations observed.

ROME MIDDLE SCHOOL at 1020 VETERAN’S MEMORIAL HWY ROME scored a 97-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed santizer bucket stored on floor.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

TERIYAKI PASSION at 136 SHORTER AVE ROME scored a 70-C, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed a designated employee eating/drinking/smoking area located in a food preparation or other restricted area.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Observed raw chicken stored above RTE foods and beside RTE foods on prep table. Observed raw shell eggs stored beside raw vegs. Observed on make table raw beef stored beside carrots.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Observed sauce made in house 75 degrees. Must be in cooler, stored hot or use time as temp control.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Observed scoop used for rice stored at room temp. Store in rice or in water 135 or higher.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Observed sauces and spices etc unlabeled. Label all items out of orignal container.  New Violation.
-Observed multiple foods items cooling at room temp must use ice bath can not cool at room temp.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Observed soy sauce buckets being reused with sweet and sour sauce.  New Violation.
-Observed dumpster lid open.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

WEST CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at LAVENDER DR ROME scored a 97-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed cheese dated 6/22/11.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
