Restaurant Inspections for October 2 – October 8, 2011

During the last week Floyd County Health Inspectors visited several food serving locations. The following information lists code provisions found to be out of adherence during the inspections. These reports have now been added to our Archive Page which can be found on our Restaurant Scores Page.

333 ON BROAD at 333 ON BROAD ROME scored a 86-B, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed black build up on soda nozzles and soda guns and can opener. CA: Discussed cleaning procedures with CFSM Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-observed PHF not held at 41 degrees F. (oil/herbs, cooked chicken, etc.) CA: Discarded Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-observed PHF not held at 135 or above. CA: Reheated Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed improper cooling method (pasta tightly covered 70 and 54). CA: loosely cover (2 step cooling process) Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-observed wall in dish area in poor condition, ceiling tiles need to be replaced, back door gaskets need replaced (no daylight). CA: Discussed repairs with CFSM New Violation.

ANTOJITOS CHAPINES at 308 S BROAD ST ROME scored a 52-U, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed owners not showing knowledge of violations etc. New Violation.
-Observed raw meat product stored above ready to eat product and touching RTE product cheese. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed equipment and utensils not washed, rinsed and sanitized in the correct order in three-compartment sink. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed cooler reading 48 degrees. Chicken 48 degrees pasta 48 degrees. All phf moved to other cooler. Cooler can not be used or repaired not NSF or ANSI. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.

-Observed spices and food items unlabeled. New Violation.
-Observed potentially hazardous food thawed in standing water. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed no working thermometers in either reach in. New Violation.

-Observed employee with no hat or hairnet. New Violation.
-Observed no chemical buckets set up and wet cloths laying on container. New Violation.
-Observed bowl not scoop with handle in corn flour. New Violation.
-Observed reuse of single-service articles. New Violation.
-No chemical test kit provided when using chemical sanitizer at three-compartment sink/warewashing machine. New Violation.
-Observed the presence of insects, rodents, or other pests. New Violation.

BOJANGLES – REDMOND CIRCLE at 1383 REDMOND CIR ROME scored a 98-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed ice scoop handle in ice. CA: Removed Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed single use lids with sticky food residue from splash. CA: Place in protected locationn Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed paper lining shelving in food prep tables underneath. CA: Repair or replace shelving with smooth, nonabsorbant, cleanable surface. New Violation.
-Observed torn gaskets on walk in cooler. Replace New Violation.

CICI’S PIZZA at 2519 REDMOND CIR ROME scored a 74-C, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed employee touching ready to eat foods cheese ham with bare hands. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed soup reading 126 degrees. Soup reheated. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed sauce bottles unlabeled. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Observed multiple employees with braclets. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
-Oberved pans with black buildup. Replace or clean Corrected On-Site. Repeat Violation.

DOMINO’S PIZZA-O’NEILL at 20 O’NEILL ST ROME scored a 97-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed cornmeal stored in container beside trash can and handwashing sink. CA: Separate food from trash and handwashing sink New Violation.
-Observed several soiled wiping cloths not in sanitizer. CA: Placed in sanitizer or laundry Corrected On-Site. New Violation.

DRAGON DRIVE-IN at 3105 MAPLE RD LINDALE scored a 85-B, below are the violations found during the inspection.

-Observed dust build up on fan in prep area. New Violation.
-Observed grease build up over fryers. New Violation.

HARRIS CATERING @ F & P GEORGIA at 38 INTERPRISE DR ROME scored a 88-B, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Observed mold build up on coke nozzles. New Violation.
-Observed food containers not properly labeled. New Violation.
-Observed wet/soiled wiping clothes not stored in sanitizer buckets between uses. New Violation.
-No copy of latest inspection report. New Violation.
-Observed gloves not being changed properly in between tasks. New Violation.

JOSEPHINE’S WINGS AND THINGS at 1308 MAPLE AVE ROME scored a 85-B, below are the violations found during the inspection.

MILANO’S PIZZA-CAVE SPRING at 3082 CAVE SPRING RD ROME scored a 55-U, below are the violations found during the inspection.

QUIZNO’S CLASSIC SUBS at 192 HICKS DR ROME scored a 86-B, below are the violations found during the inspection.

TACO BELL-TURNER MCCALL at 1802 TURNER MCCALL BOULEVARD BLVD ROME scored a 97-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.

WENDY’S at 711 MARTHA BERRY HWY ROME scored a 96-A, below are the violations found during the inspection.
-Wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses. New Violation.
-Observed several single-service articles stored directly on counter top without barrier. New Violation.
