Entries Now Being Accepted For Roman Roast On The River Battle Of The Bands

The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority in partnership with Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame have announced a call for the entries for the second annual Roman Roast on the River Battle of the Bands Contest. Event sponsor, 95.7 The Ridge, will host the Battle of the Bands contest.

After band submissions have been received, contest judges will listen to all entries and select the bands to participate in the live on-air contest. 95.7 The Ridge will announce these finalists during the Matt D and Mullins in the Morning show on April 14. The bands selected for the contest will have their song played live on air during the morning show. Song submissions will be played on-air each week during the morning show and listeners will be directed to go online to vote for their favorite band.

The four bands who receive the most votes will compete live Saturday, May 14 on the Main Stage at Roman Roast on the River on Saturday, May 14. The band who receives the most votes during the live battle will be the new reigning Battle of the Bands Champion.

All bands from all genres are encouraged to enter now through March 31 by emailing a mp3 file of one song sample, the band name and contact information to mattd@theridge957.com.

The second annual Roman Roast on the River Barbecue Competition is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and will offer competitions in both professional and back yard categories. The festival will also feature arts and crafts, children activities, Miss Bar-B-Quetie, Car Show, BBQ tasting, Contests & Games. 100% of event proceeds will benefit the Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame scholarship fund providing scholarships to children in need for all Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation activities including Challenger Sports & Programs (special needs), youth athletics and youth programs.
